La majstroverko de Tolkien estas sendube Mastro la Ringoj, en kiu aŭtoro rakontas fantastan epopeon lando, kiun li nomas Meza Tero. Por ĉi tiu mondo, kreis almenaŭ dek kvar lingvojn, unu por ĉiuj popoloj, kiuj enloĝas ĝin. du plej bone konataj Quenya kaj Sindarin, lingvoj, kiujn parolis Elfoj. Dum sia tuta vivo, interesiĝis pri aparte mezepokaj ĝermanaj sed ankaŭ multe amis kimran lingvon, admiris finnan. Unu el ĉefaj kialoj tiuj admiro amo lingvoj estis fakto, ke posedis literaturon, konsideris eposa epopea, esprimis bedaŭron, moderna angla ne havis tian literaturon. Junaĝe, promesis verki epopeojn dediĉi al nacio. Kiam unue renkontis Esperanton, plene subtenis ĝiajn idealojn, sed, pro lingvo tro juna posedi eposan iom post forlasis movadon. Uzante sian konon finna lingvo, lia unua provo lingvokreado pra-Quenya, verkis poezion. Li poste Sindarin-on, bazita sur kimra lingvo. Ringo, doni siaj lingvaj kreaĵoj kvazaŭan historian fundamenton.
